It's been a long time since I've updated this. Mostly I've been relying on MySpace to keep people informed of my whereabouts. I moved to Knoxville, TN in February to take a Post-Master's position at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The work has been fun so far, but mostly I've been working on a lot of data integration and application integration. It's not quite the research I was expecting.

Since my move to Knoxville, I've taken up capoeira. The dance/game is so much fun and I want to learn it all. It has a lot of the same things I love about the lindy hop scene: improvisation, community, and a feeling like I could do it the rest of my life.

The Austin Exchange is about to start. I've been working the past few months at Multimedia Games, perhaps the most generically named company I've ever worked for. I do math for video slot machines. I've also recently become obsessed with playing ping pong. It's by far the best office sport. I don't think I could work for a company without a table, now.

I'm back in Texas, dammit. I'm not doing much with my time right now. I go to the gym, hang out at Cafe Java, search for jobs, and go out dancing at night. Who knows where I'll end up, but I think I need to work soon, 'cause I'm getting bored.

In most current news, I am finally graduating with my Master's from CMU. It only took me 7 semesters -- I blame lindy hop. I defended my thesis (no revisions, biotch!), so now it's just a matter of picking up the diploma. If your company needs to hire an algorithms whiz bang, crack bullshit detector, or you just want to pay me a lot for being cute, check out my resume.

I just returned from North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where I danced the Carolina Shag for nine days straight. SOS throws the best parties. I'm seriously considering a move to Raleigh, NC now in order to shag every day. The Grand Nationals is also a possibility.
